On the afternoon of February 1, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the Foreign Affairs Office of Jinan Municipal People's Government, together with the government of Lixia District, jointly organized a "Spring Festival in Jinan" in the Shunjing Internationalized Community, in which more than 40 international friends studying and working in Jinan and community residents gathered together to enjoy Peking Opera. Spring Festival is one of the Chinese nation’s oldest and grandest traditional festivals. Jinan warmly welcomes friends from all over the world to celebrate the Chinese New Year, and talk about friendship and cooperation, and wish for a new year of vibrant life, work, and friendship, which will be full of prosperity and fruitfulness.
During the event, the Chinese and foreign volunteers of the Shunjing Internationalized Community were awarded and encouraged to keep up their efforts in the new year and to be friendly ambassadors connecting Jinan with the rest of the world. Jinan artists presented wonderful traditional Chinese art performances, including the national art of Peking Opera and acrobatics, which were pleasing to the eyes and ears. International friends from Germany, the Philippines, and other countries picked up brushes and wrote down their blessings for the Chinese New Year, shared hot dumplings and soup dumplings and savored the “Jinan New Year’s Taste on the Tip of the Tongue.”
